The difference between this group and maybe some others, from what I heard, is that I am looking for new friends, not just someone to spend an hour with, so please consider that before joining this group, if that is for you.

About me...I am single and looking to meet some new, fun friends, female or male to do some fun things. I am very into arts and crafts, shopping, dining out, cooking, trip to beach, taking a class, travel, movies possibly seeing a show, visiting aboretums and mansions etc... I am open to suggestions, I dont want it to be just me deciding on places. I would like to keep this to mainly events in Queens or Long Island. I am not much for Manhattan, except for time to time. I love animals and helping people, maybe we can plan an event where we do some community service, just an idea.

I am looking to keep a "happy" group, with nice and friendly people so we can learn and grow with each other and make some real, good, quality friends!

I am very excited about the fabulous response the group has had, so quickly. I am a little overwhelmed, in a good way!

If you think you have a suggesstion that the group would be interested in, I would really appreciate it, please send me the details.

I have learned the hard way that a lot of people RSVP that they are going to an event and never show up or let me know they changed their minds and I am not only spending a lot of time on this, but I incur expenses getting there and I am stuck there by myself which I think it not only rude but very immature. I ask that you please be mindful of your RSVP's and really plan on going. I did not want to be so strict like some other groups that kick you out if you miss a few events, because things do happen but I think if you commit to an event you could at least have the courtesy of calling me to change your plans. If this does not work I will be forced to change this again. I hope you understand how that feels.

I think it is only fair if you RSVP yes to an event and do not show up or cancel your RSVP at least 1 day before I am going to cancel your membership. I am very sorry if this upsets anyone but I have been stood up and waiting for people who just do not have the courtesy of showing up.

New information...

I will expect that each person be ready to give your personal email and phone number when you RSVP yes to an event and I will call the night before to confirm.

I will give my phone number to people who are attending an event at some point before the event so you can call me if something urgent comes up and you have to change your plans or you cannot find me at the event. I know sometimes it is hard to know where we can meet at a particular event.
