The Kentucky Derby & Mint Julips at Arlington Park!

It's Derby Day--and because we can't be in the Bluegrass State for the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby, let's go watch it via simulcast (plus watch a day of live racing, too) at Arlington Park.

We'll meet at The Newsroom bar on the second floor at Ogilvie Transportation Center at 10:00 to get some roadies, grab our $7 Metra weekend passes, then jump on the train. The UP/NW line leaves at 10:30 and will get us to Arlington at 11:20--plenty of time for the first post time at 12:45 (the next train, at 12:30, gets in at 1:20 for those who miss us). People who are driving, check your Meetup app on your phone for a gathering location.

The last race is at 6:00 pm and there's a Metra heading back to the city at 6:30 pm (gets to Ogilvie at 7:20). We can find a city bar to drink in afterwards.

Note: This is NOT a bar package and there are no tickets to buy. Sorry. We're just going on a field trip to the track to watch the Derby--this is not like our Hawthorne events we've done before or the Arlington events we'll be doing in the summer. You're in charge of your own costs: Metra ticket or parking charges, entrance fee, race program, wagering, drinks, and food. Awesome company and a great time is free, though.

Derby attire encouraged!

Cheers!

Bryan and Tom

** FYI, Chrissy won't be hanging out with our group, but we can go see her at Arlington University outside Mr. D's Sports Bar. She's working at Arlington that day and will be available to give her picks, teach us how to bet, and generally be her amazing self, as usual. **
