Our concise rules create a fun and competitive game.
LOCATION:
We are located at the corner of NAVY STREET and OCEAN FRONT WALK. You cannot miss us if you walk up NAVY STREET towards the beach. Our football fields are set up BETWEEN the volley ball courts and the ocean. We are literally at the boarder of Venice Beach and Santa Monica beach at the very end of the Venice boardwalk where the street vendors stop. You can use the address below for mapping purposes.
100 Oceanfront Walk
Santa Monica, CA 90405
PARKING:
PAY PARKING: The easiest, nearest, most abundant, and least expensive parking is located at the Santa Monica beach parking lots. The lot starts at KINNEY STREET and NEILSON WAY and continues NORTH for several blocks. It only costs $1 per hour to park there and you may park for up to 3 hours. Our games never last for more than two hours so you will be good with 3 hours including your walking time to and from the game. It is only a 6 minute walk from the parking lot to our game field. The parking machines accept credit cards, change, and one dollar bills. To get to the game walk South on NEILSON WAY and then West on NAVY STREET down to OCEANFRONT WALK (and the beach).
FREE PARKING: There is free street parking wherever available, but the best place to find free parking is located right around the GOLD’S GYM located at 360 HAMPTON DR., VENICE, CA 90291. It is a 10 minute walk to our game field from Gold’s Gym. To get to the game walk North on HAMPTON DRIVE, West on ROSE AVENUE down to OCEANFRONT WALK (and the beach), and then North on OCEANFRONT WALK to the end of the Venice boardwalk.

BASIC RULES OF THE GAME:
We play a respectful and fun style of flag football with NO taunting or other aggressive behavior. We are here to have fun and make new friends. We genuinely welcome everyone, but if you have a bad temperament then you are probably better off playing somewhere else.
Play will start at the 5 yard line. Teams have 4 downs to reach midfield; then another 4 downs to reach the end zone.
The offense may rush at any time outside of 5 yards from the 1st down or end zone.
Females are required to handle the ball in the ratio (at least) equal to the number of women on the team. For example, if there are five players on a team including one female, then the female must throw, run, or attempt to catch a pass on at least 20% of the downs. This guarantees that all females are included in the offensive side of game.
Men are worth 6 points when scoring a touchdown. To encourage the involvement of women in scoring plays, women are worth 9 points for catching, throwing, or running into the end zone.
Teams can go for 1, 2, or 3 points after a touchdown; 1 point from 5 yards out, 2 points from 10 yards out, and 3 points from 15 yards out.
The defense may rush after a 3 second timer count or a 7-one thousand verbal count. The defense may blitz 1 time every 4 downs. To protect the Quarterback from hand and arm injuries, once a rusher crosses the line of scrimmage, he/she may only go for the QB's flag and may not attempt to bat the football.
WE PLAY NO CONTACT FLAG FOOTBALL! That means we do not allow tackling, pass interference, illegal contact, or contact blocking.
A tackling and/or pass interference call will be made anytime a player makes contact with another player primarily with his shoulder, elbow, or forearm.
An illegal contact call will be made if an offensive player attempts to use his/her body as a weapon against a defensive player.
We do not allow contact blocking, but players may screen block. This means you are allowed to stand still in place to create an obstacle for the defense.
Penalties will be enforced for tackling, pass interference, illegal contact, and illegal blocking.
Both offense and defense can make foul calls. All players should respect and not argue over each other’s calls. An organizer will resolve any disputes.
You may review our detailed rules by clicking the “Pages” button.
PLEASE DON'T FORGET:
If you have RSVP'd, but later can not attend, please change your status to NOT GOING.
Sunscreen & water are recommended.
Please be on time. However, we do understand that this is sometimes difficult; especially for those who are attending for the first time. New attendees and existing members are still welcome if they are late.
