This is a new restoration of Fritz Lang's 1927 science fiction masterpiece METROPOLIS, now with 25 minutes of lost footage and the original Gottfried Huppertz score. Now for the first time in 83 years audiences will see what Lang intended before his film was butchered by distributors hoping to improve box office grosses by drastically shortening the movie.

I hope you can join me for this silent movie epic. (And the most expensive silent movie ever made!) I've always wanted to see it. We'll be seeing the 7:00-ish show. And we'll grab dinner on Santa Monica Blvd. around 5:00. I'll update soon with more info. I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist film in the science-fiction genre directed by Fritz Lang. Produced in Germany during a stable period of the Weimar Republic, Metropolis is set in a futuristic urban dystopia and makes use of the science fiction context to explore a political theme of the day: the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism.
