This meetup is a community based support and educational structure designed for people to share experiences, learn about GAPS, learn new recipes, and have questions answered by GAPS Practitioners. All GAPS clients and anybody who is interested in learning about GAPS may attend.

GAPS is an acronym that was trademarked for Gut and Psychology Syndrome by Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride in 1988. Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride holds a Degree in Medicine and Postgraduate Degrees in both Neurology and Human Nutrition. After practicing five years as a Neurologist and three years as a Neurosurgeon, she started her clinic in Cambridge, UK and specializes in nutrition for children and adults with behavioral and learning disabilities, and adults with digestive and immune system disorders. She has contributed to many publications and does international seminars on learning disabilities and digestive disorders. Two of her books published are Gut and Psychology Syndrome and Put Your Heart in Your Mouth. Her new book is due to be released soon titled Gut and Physiology Syndrome. She has trained Practitioners around the world to implement her protocols due to overwhelming need of help for clients. Two of her GAPS Practitioners will be hosting this meetup group here in Los Angeles with the intention of education, community support, and resources to facilitate healing through the GAPS protocol.

This meetup is for members who are looking for a natural approach to support the body in its own healing for autism, dyspraxia, A.D.D., dyslexia, A.D.H.D, depression, schizophrenia, autoimmune disorders, Chronic fatigue, heart disease, chronic constipation, food allergies, children with chronic ear infections, adults with chronic infections, supporting and building immunity before, during and after pregnacy, skin disorders, and much more. GAPS protocol is an approach to support the human body in its own healing by connecting it back to its intended ecosystem through uncontaminated food, benificial microorganisms and reestablishing the bodies natural detoxification system.

Learning the techniques of traditions past in cultivating fermented foods and the importance of these microorganisms in the function of our immune system are paramount in healing process. Overall total health is the focus of Dr. Campbell-Mcbride. Including these traditional foods, along with grass-fed animal products, organic fruits and vegetables, high saturated animal fats, coconut oil, meat broth and bone stock provide the nutritional base and sets up the foundation that allows the body to heal itself. Healing the gut tissue, getting the proper nutrition and learning to avoid toxins all facilitate the body in healing. Symptomatology disappears as the client follows the GAPS protocol.  Recovery is noted quickly in most clients. Some are able to return to foods not on the protocol and others find that this lifestyle change supports the way in which nature intended and no longer desire the Standard American Diet.

I challenge you to take your health into your own hands. Be empowered. I look forward to you joining our community.

Blessings in Health,

Denise Candies, RN

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
