Los Angeles Hack Night

Prerequisites

Hackers only. Bring your laptop and a project to work on. Recruiters, spectators, etc. are not allowed.

Schedule

6:00 Food, drinks

6:30 Stand-up. Announcements, introductions. Briefly introduce yourself and what you're working on. If you're asking for help mention what you're looking for help with. If you're offering help mention what you're offering help with.

What to expect

Expect to find people sitting around tables talking about and working on their own projects. We don't have presentations  or structure so bring your own project, introduce yourself, ask people "what are you working on", find a seat and get yourself set up, hack away on your project, and have fun.

RSVP

Leave a comment about what you're working on so others can see what you're up to.

Parking

WeWork recommends parking at 7021 Hollywood Blvd (CVS, LA FITNESS GARAGE).  It's an $8 flat fee, entrance is off Sycamore.

Thanks Jamin and Rico for the object store help. I got the query working and can filter just based on the URL path. The issue was key name is a string.

I'll be in late. Been working my way through "7 Languages in 7 Weeks". Currently on the Scala chapter. I'll be working on some of the exercises for that tonight.

Getting back to a programming groove after a one month haitus. Just fixing errors on a calculator type of program with passing arguments as a re-entry.

Laptop doesn't arrive for another week, so I'll probably be chipping away at The Little Schemer or SICP: http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/full-text/book/book.html

Doing nested parens without a keyboard is going to suck.

I'll be working on code for an interactive art installation. It involves kinect, image point clouds, real-time video stream processing, and audio.
