Crafting with Pagans - Samhain and Día de Muertos

"Please do not RSVP here. RSVP directly to The Long Beach Pagan Meetup Group Meetup at:

http://www.meetup.com/pagan-962/events/calendar/"

Let's get to together on the last Friday of the month and make something!

Although we will select a theme and provide a project suggestion with a list of supplies, everyone is welcome to make what ever they want. This will be a time to gather, to craft, to talk and socialize with other crafters or wanna be crafters.  Bring a snack to share and a beverage to enjoy.

For the first crafters meetup I suggest a craft that we could use for Samhain and Día de Muertos decorations. I think these cute little sugar skulls made from felt and embroidery thread fit the bill!

If this is the craft you want to work on you can bring your scissors, felt, embroidery thread, filling, and embroidery needles. I will have some extra as well as patterns for those of us who need them.

You are welcome to bring a snack to share, any beverage you would like to enjoy, and any craft books, project, etc to talk about or show off. If you are planning on bringing a munchie to share, please share it in the comments so we can get excited about it!

In reading this I had an image of kindergarten, sitting at these tables with craft paper, crayons and scissors all over the place. I started doing something that was a different direction than what the teacher, Miss Bell, was wanting us to do and the girl next to me, Peggy - with blonde hair, probably in braided piggy tails - said "um, I'm telling." I grew to hate that girl. And so was my first love affair with the opposite sex, not that there was any with the same sex. Ewww!!! NEVER!!!! (I'll show you mine if you.........never mind). Maybe I should do my crafting with words. I couldn't even cut a straight line with scissors much less snacks. Snacks! Now that's something I can do. Snacks and beverages! Is this what you meant by "get the conversation started?"
Maybe I should stay home for this one. I'm definitely a fish out of water when it comes to arts and crafts unless it's witchcraft. In that case............maybe I should just stick with scissors.
