Sat Feb 15th Noon-2pm
Sat Mar 22nd Noon-2pm $23;$3 discount for cash. I intend to begin with the story of Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed and his encounter with Arawn, Lord of Annwn. No fancy introductions, straight into the meat of the thing. We’ll all get to know each other as the stories progress.

The next story will continue the tale of Pwyll as he meets Rhiannon, the horse Goddess, how they marry and eventually Rhiannon gives birth to Pryderi. The story will discuss his birth, loss and return.

The next story takes a sideways move and is the story of Taliesin, of Gwion Bach and his transformation through the fierce love of Ceridwen into the first of the great poets.

The next story will be of Bendigeidfran, the giant King who sails to Ireland with a great army to avenge his sister and only 7 return. Amongst the 7 who survive the conflict are Taliesin and Pryderi.

The next story resumes with the tale of Pryderi. He and Manawyddan ap Llyr, brother of Bendigeidfran, return to the Kingdom of Dyfed. The Kingdom is laid waste and a mighty struggle ensues to return the land.

In the next tale, Math ap Mathonwy, brother to the Goddess Dôn enters the tales. So does his nephew Gwydion. Gwydion manufactures a war with Pryderi. The war is ended by Pryderi and Gwydion agreeing to fight in single combat to prevent any further bloodshed. This story ends with Math punishing Gwydion and his brother Gilfaethwy.

And the stories continue…

A bit about Peter Freeman:

I was born and raised in Llanelli, a Welsh speaking community in a family that had a strong Druid tradition. In Wales, more so than any of the other Celtic countries, even Ireland, we still speak the ancient language that existed before the Anglo-Saxon invasions of the 5th Century. My grandparents, parents and the many friends and visitors to our home taught me most of the old stories and legends from the ancient Welsh tradition. They also taught me to always look beyond the story to the lessons beneath.

I found my way from my homeland, via London, to Los Angeles, where I have been for the last 23 years. A tale or a hundred can be told of my life and experiences along the path. My life has been blessed by powers greater than me. I have been fortunate beyond measure as I continue to grow and learn. The experiences of my life have finally led me to a time and place where I can share what I know.
