PAGAN BANG! Monthly Venice Beach Drum Circle and Picnic When: Sunday, March 2, 2008, 3:00 - 7:00 PM

(Please note - this event will be recurring on the FIRST Sunday of each month) Where:Venice Beach1000 Ocean Front WalkVenice, CA 90291 Description:The drum circle takes place between Brooks and Breeze out on the sand. Some of us will bring extras drums/noisemakers but feel free to be creative if you don't have a "real" drum to bring. There is also a store that sells drums and all kinds of shakers on the boardwalk very near the circle. Feel free to bring snacks to share and blankets and we will set up a special "pagan" circle off to the side for people to leave their stuff and hang out when they aren't drumming. If you're stingy about parking be sure to arrive early so you can find a price that pleases you. If you don't mind using your feet (and your drums aren't too cumbersome) then parking as far north as Rose Ave or as far south as Venice Way is no more than a 15-20 minute walk. Bring at least ten dollars for parking as prices change hourly/ daily! Bring fifteen dollars if you are determined to park right by the circle. Bring change in case you park in a lot run on meters. (As much as a dollar per hour for meters.) Feel free to organize carpools on the message board so you can split the fee! The circle gets busiest for sunset. The Venice police will come by around 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM and ask everyone to wrap up. There is absolutely NO alcohol on the beach. This is strictly enforced. Pets should be kept on a leash and on the sidewalk, but this rule is not strictly enforced especially for small dogs. Be sure to bring a jacket and sun screen if you need it - it can be very cold out by the water and colder after dark! RSVP limit: None
