I really enjoyed meeting everyone there! I've got a list of wireframing tools to try, and had some amazing conversations. Thanks, Savings.com and Neal!

By the way, someone left their backpack at the event last night, please contact Eric VanBeek or myself to coordinate pickup. No ransom.

Great to see everyone, here's a list of tools that came up over the evening: framer.js, iRise (in El Segundo), draw.io, Blueprint (iOS mockup), Cacoo, POPapp.in, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, and Visio. But it seems whiteboarding is the favorite!

I think there are different use cases that drive these different tools - depends a lot on the product, the needs of the stakeholders /customers, and the configuration of the team. Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and insights - should be a lively discussion!

Good point Don. On the flip side, I think it depends on how deep you go with (or how your group defines) a wireframe. Part of the "wireframe" process here at Savings.com tends to include, in addition to all the parts that make up a screen, the visualization of functionality for those parts (buttons, transitions, etc) to give the designers a better feel for what's going on. I haven't worked with invision much, but I can see it potentially being a quick import from balsamiq to show better functionality (especially on mobile).

Omnigraffle & Axure are my staples. Depends on who I need to share with though. I'm fluent with InDesign, AI & PS but find something like Omnigraffle faster less formal and more suited to the task.

Simon, I haven't worked much with Omnigraffle. Is it more high fidelity? Do you have any examples of interesting things you've done that you'd be willing to bring along and share with people during the breakout?

Invision looks cool for a click through prototype app - not so much for wireframes.

You're right, not much for wires but where it does shine is on mobile. The mobile prototype functionality and animations are phenomenal, think of it as a test flight for design assets. Their liveshare mode native to photoshop is also fantastic.

Looking forward to this meetup! Does anyone have any wireframing tools that they use on a regular basis? Or any that you've tried but don't like for any particular reason?

Huge balsamiq fan here as well. We've been using fluidui for prototyping and it's worked well, but took a look at invision early this week and really like how it works. Thanks for the feedback!
