Outdoor Roaming "No Meat and Mingle" Vegan Potluck at Descanso Gardens

This event will take place at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge.  We will meet at the picnic table.  When approaching the main entrance to the gardens, the picnic area is to the far right, in the southern corner of parking lot.  For additional details see "Notes from Hostess" below.

Please note that this event is promoted in various places so the actual turn out is likely to be bigger than would appear from the RSVP's here.

**** In order to participate in this event, you must bring a ready to eat vegan dish to share (Vegan means no meat, fish, eggs, dairy or honey- No animal products at all).  Not doing so would not be not fair to those of us that do.  If everyone does not bring a prepared dish to serve at least 10 people, there may not be enough food. Thank you.****

***This is a free event (unless you choose to pay to enter the gardens or ride the Enchanted Railroad) if you bring your own reusable plate/bowl, eating utensils and serving utensils.  If you forget to bring these we ask for a $3.00 donation.  Funds will be used to pay for Meetup dues, supply and other costs for future potlucks.***

***NOTE FROM HOSTESS (Marie) : I am excited to share this place with other
souls who care about nature.

The gardens are a safe haven for many California oaks, as well as a showcase of native plants. A rose garden, tranquil Japanese Garden, art museum, historic ranch house, and vegetable garden all live at Descanso, plus more that simply cannot be described.
There are also deer and lots of wildlife, who show up now and then. You may want to bring a camera!

We will meet at the picnic table.  When approaching the main entrance to the gardens, the picnic area is to the far right, in the southern corner of parking lot.  No pets please except for service animals.  Children are welcome.  Restrooms are just inside the gate, near the garden's cafe. Please stand in line & ask before going in to use them, if not buying entry to the garden.

There is no charge to be in the picnic area.  If you would like to enter the Gardens, or
ride on the enchanted railroad, here are the prices:

Admission is $9. Senior/Students $6. Children (5 to 12years) $4. Children under 5 free. Enchanted Railroad: $3 a ride.

Food is not allowed inside the garden. Water bottles o.k.

Walking shoes suggested if visiting garden; some paved
paths, some dirt paths.

******Please bring a vegan dish to share. Vegan means no meat, fish, eggs, dairy or honey- No animal products at all.*******

Please invite all your local friends by using the "Invite Friends" button that appears on the top right of the events page after you RSVP.  Non vegans are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Organic, chemical free, GMO free foods are encouraged.  Both cooked and raw vegan food are welcome.  There will be a space designated for raw food.  Please be
concious to place your dish there only if every ingredient in your dish is 100%
raw (pasteurized foods, commercially canned and most jarred food are not raw).

Please bring an ingredient list to help those of us with allergies or better yet, a complete recipe.

If you need to call (not text) the evening of the event:  Dave[masked]-8380.  Marie:[masked]-9084.

*****Hosts/hostesses are needed.  If you would like to offer your space for
one of these parties, please contact Dave Rubin through Facebook or call at the
