Post-Turkey-Day Salsa Dancing at Monsoon!

Monsoon is one the best known salsa places in Los Angeles with lots of great dancers and the best live Salsa bands. This is a beautiful, Asian themed restaurant, you may want to consider having dinner beforehand.

Last time the place got unusually growded from 10 to 11pm, then eased off, but hopefully this time it is better all night. The age range is mixed, but mainly late 20's to 40's, not quite as wide as some other places we visit. The feel is a bit clubbier than Hacienda, but a lot less so than Conga Room.

When you get there, head upstrairs and look for GLOWBANDS. We'll meet at 10pm around the time classes end. (if you are taking a class, try to reserve us one table, please, there are only a few of them!!) Open dancing starts at 10pm and live music starts a little later.

To get on the VIP list for $5 cover charge (instead of $10) email your full name before 4pm on the 24th to djandypre[masked]. List is good till 11pm and does not include classes.

Parking is possible on the streets if you walk a few blocks and also available at parking garages on 2nd and 4th streets. (I think $5)

The classes are: beginner: 7.30pm to 8.30pm and intermediate: 8.30pm to 9.30pm. I highly recommend these for members not at advanced levels yet. Classes are $10 and include the cover.

Please don't hesitate to come alone. We are all very friendly. Just find me and I'll introduce you to people.

PLEASE HONOR YOUR RSVPS, WE DO HAVE A NO-REPEAT-FLAKING POLICY!

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL!

I had a great time. I don't think I could sit down for longer than 5 minutes before dancing again! I will be back.

This is my first meetup event. And I think the age group is a bit too young (I'm in 50s tho I've been told I look like late 40s). So will I be out of place here? What to wear??

You definitely should come to Monsoon, but if it feels just a little clubby to you make also sure to come to events at Hacienda, Stevens and Autry as those places have even wider mix of friendly people attending. Dress light as it gets hot, in salsa anything goes from jeans and a sleeveless top to a skimpiest party dress.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
