Didn't really read the line up. I thought it would be similar to LaRuby's meetup where there would be five or so lectures. Turns out there was only one, the sbt one was out cause the presenter is sick, over all it was great but I felt it was long and too much into the details. To me it was dry, I thought it would have made a nice 15 to 30 min presentation, it felt like an hour, but I brought a friend to the meetup and he loved the presentation! We didn't talk to many people, one or two people in general but over all the energy is pretty nice and the questions are very constructive.

Great to see some old friends and the Scala presentation was very interesting.

I've left everybody's name at the parking security. If you get here and for some reason they don't have it, mention Blair Zajac and that you're here for the Scala Users Meeting, that'll get you in.

There's been some confusion about my previous note.

The meetup is still on and I'll be talking about Scala at Imageworks and parser combinators, we just are not having a sbt talk.

If you have anything interesting to present to fill the sbt slot, please let me know.

    Hello everyone,

Due to illness, the sbt talk is postponed to the next meeting we are hosting.

I'd like to invite, if you have something you would like to present, please let me know. Selection will be made based on topic.

We'll be serving chips and drinks.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

    Regards,
    Blair

I see, there's two separate maps, the overlay map cannot handle the address while Google Maps is fine. I removed the "West".

The trouble is the "West" in "West Washington Blvd.".

Is it not working? I just clicked on the address link and it came up correct. Just in case, here's a map: http://g.co/maps/efr2d

One cannot put in a zip code into meetup's address, so it can get confused.

Ah. Right or wrong, Google seems to think it's at "9050 Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA".

    Hi Blair,

Google doesn't seem to grok that address either. :( How about "Washington and Ince"?

I just read about the hubbub around yammer/scala. Can I start the discussion early? :)

Dang it. I guess not. Stupid 500 character comment limit... :(

Thanks for finding the issue, I updated the address, it had Los Angeles instead of Culver city.

The address does not come up on Google Maps. Do you have another? Cheers.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
