Chicken Processing Class

  • June 1, 2013 · 4:00 PM

Sam will be leading another class to show how to process a chicken while treating the animal with respect. $30 class fee. Proceeds to help kickstart the Institute of Urban Ecology's new animal husbandry operations.

Visit http://www.instituteofurbanecology.org/ for more info.

Depending on the response, each participant will have their own chicken to work on.

Bring a sharp paring knife, tweezers, cutting board for raw meat & nitrile/latex gloves if you wish. Come in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Sorry I missed this. Would love to see another class in the future, maybe in the South Bay Area?

I second that. It really took the fear out of it for me and I feel confident that I could do it to one of my own now. Thanks Sam and Jeanette!

    Hi Sam,
5 pm works for me. I don't have a chicken to process, but I am fine with observing if there are not enough chickens to go around. Thanks!

    Hi Sam -
I can't make 5pm...sorry. If the class time officially changes, I'll need to cancel and hope to attend the next one.
    Thanks! Laura
