Experience the joys of Backyard Chicken-keeping.
Transition Culver City is hosting a chicken teach-in/pot luck at the Little Blue House. Meet the chickens, see the coop and chicken run. Learn how raising chickens and veggies can be complementary activities.
Workshop is free. Donations are welcome (helps support future events). Please bring a potluck dish for 8-10 people.
RSVP: [masked] or text or call[masked]-1051.
Christy Wilhelmi, http://gardenerd.com/category/blog/, will talk to us about chickens as gardening soul mates, companions, and "workhorses". She'll have her new book, Gardening for Geeks, on hand.
We'll also have the pleasure of hearing from Chelsea McFarland. Chelsea and her husband, Rob, started HoneyLove, a nonprofit conservation organization with a mission to protect the honeybees and inspire and educate new urban beekeepers.
