Seaside Feather Fanciers Bash at the Beach

This is a California Poultry Show at the Ventura County Fair Grounds.

From the SeaSide Feather Fanciers:

We are please that the "Bash at the Beach" has becomeone of the most popular shows in the west. Our goal continues to be the furthering of the breeding and enjoyment of show fowl of any type. Thus we are an "inclusive" rather than "exclusive" club and welcome anyone who is interested in birds of any kind. We have hired nationally known judges to pass judgment on all entries and will have a bird to judge ratio that will allow them to give each bird it's just due.

I went to this event in the spring? It was fun to see all the different birds!! FYI the fairground is right where the train stops.... If I had known I might have considered training it up there!!! They do have a sale area .... Anybody can bring birds to sell... I think you just rent a cage. There werent tons of birds for sale and they can go fast depending on breed & price. Not everyone arrives right as show starts do inventory can fluctuate. Last show they had a bird & fertile egg auction. I loved the idea of getting local rare breed fertile eggs!! These auctions were held at the end of the day as is the raffle.... So if you are interested in them I wouldn't go too early or you'll be stuck hanging around for HOURS!!!

I'm thinking about going for the first part of the show in case anyone wants to carpool. I'd want to get there by 9am and leave around 11 or 12pm. I'd be leaving from Long Beach and heading up the 405.

Yes, there are chicks and adults usually for sale. Bring a carrier, just in case! :)

Some people will bring birds for sale. You can try looking on the California Poultry People facebook page to ask if anyone is bringing some.
