Battery Hen Adoption Event

The event is this Sunday the 14th at 9am at Peta's headquarters. Address 2154 W. Sunset BLVD Los Angeles 90026. We are bringing down hens to approved adopters only since this is a long drive we can't bring any extra hens. There is a fee for $10 a hen, $7 for 5 or more, and $5 for 11 or more. They are between the ages of 1 and 2, and if you need anymore information just let me know! Please bring a dog crate or box with holes in it to the event to take your girls home in.

There arer over 4,000 battery cage hens rescued last spring. These hens are still laying, and make excellent pets but we are still trying to find homes for our last few hundred. We will be in Los Angeles the weekend of the 14th so they are trying to find as many homes as they can in the area. The hens are white leghorns, and are around 1 year old. This was part of the largest farm animal rescue in the state.

You need to be approved ahead of time so go to the link to fill out the required information. They will only bring enough hens for the approved list.

I am giving away, 7, brown egg laying hens, to good homes. They are Hubbards I believe. Half leghorns and half rhode island reds. Beautiful girls who lay daily.

Total brain fart! I forgot that I'm working on Sunday. Is anyone else going that could pick up some extra hens. I could bring a crate to your place and pick up after work on Sunday. :(

Big hugs, cheers and tears to everyone involved. I miss my sweet girls, and look forward to the day when I can once again share my home with some rescued souls who greet each day with proud, enthusiastic clucking!

I'm going to get a few hens for an urban farm, the Growing Experience, that can give them a great home.
