I agree. I'm getting way overloaded with emails about homeless roosters and diapers etc...would prefer that our site be used for these communications.

amen to that. as interesting as it all has been, it has clogged up my e-mail account all week, so please, please, please, stop sending out e-mails & use the meetup group for which it was intended.

If posts by members of this Meetup group are sent to the membership list by regular e-mail (like I am doing right now), then Ofelia is correct; they will eventually disappear, and with them, all the information (and community-building) they contain. On the other hand, if you log on to the Meetup site itself (http://www.meetup.com/Los-Angeles-Urban-Chicken-Enthusiasts/) and post your chicken-related messages there, they will go to the same people (members of the group, who can choose to read them or not), but they will show up as part of a message thread (much easier to read and use) and they will be archived on the Meetup site for future reference by members of the LAUCE community. You still get notified by regular e-mail whenever someone posts on the site, and choosing to get this notification once a day makes it even more convenient.

The purpose of a Meetup online site is just that: a convenient way to share and organize information among members. Regular e-mail is not the best way to do this; most of us get too much e-mail as it is, and, sorry, but it is a real nuisance to have to sort through stuff we may not be interested in.

Thanks, Natalie!

For anyone who doesn't know, this kind of great and useful conversation can
be easily had on the forum on the web site. Then those interested can
follow or participate in any discussion topic(s) as desired. I'm pretty
sure that's what Lora originally had in mind for this type of thing.

I hope everyone finds a home who needs one and that everyone keeps making
the LAUCE a valuable resource for all.

Maybe we can keep the follow up emails on a subject between the
interested/involved parties? I feel inundated the past few days..
Thanks :)
