Los Angeles Urban Chicken Enthusiasts Message Board › Selling three super friendly Buff Orpingtons that are nearly 8 months old

I'm selling three Buff Orpington hens. They are nearly 8 months old, currently laying and stunningly friendly. I have spent a lot of time with each of these hens so all three are people friendly, they walk up to me wanting to be held, looking to get an extra treat. One of them wants nothing more then to sit in my lap asking for a back rub and she lets me know when she wants to be held by tapping my leg with her beak to be picked up. Very Cute. All three can be held with ease, simply bend down pick them up. They don't mind children handling them but they are heavy hens, about 8 pounds each.
They have been fed organically, free ranged on my property. All three must have access to free range time, they dont like being coup bound all day. Very mellow hens. I held onto these hens longer then I normally would because I had a young rooster that I could not find a home for so the hens stayed on longer to keep him company and away from bothering his dad's and my other Rooster's established flocks. I've finally been able to find a home for Jr rooster so now its time to find a home for his hens. Jr Rooster went to a home with 6 hens, the family who took JR didn't want more hens. All three will only be sold together and I'm asking $35.00 for each hen. If you'd like to see pictures or meet them drop me an email. I'm willing to bring them to you or you are welcome to come to my place to pick them up. Thanks. Edited by Bev on Nov 14, 2012 11:55 AM |

I don't think the limit is 5 in the city of LA. Anyway, I'm interested in all 3 to add to my flock of 3 if Danuta changes her mind. I live in Sherman Oaks.

Hi - almost neighbor! My limit on five is mainly based on the size of our coop not on where we live (although someone once told me that in Reseda it is 5 or 6 at the most) I just love Orpingtons & when I bought our "Peaches" (as a very young pullet a year ago) I taught I had one- but she turned out to be Buff Leghorn, by then we became fond of her (with all her Leghorn hysterical ways) so I was still hopping to find a friendly Buff Orpington to add to our friendly little flock. Right now we have her, a Red Star, a Australorp & a Plymouth Rock (they all lay fantastic tasty eggs, although right now 3 of them are still molting) I hope Bev will consider letting me have one -but if not, I will understand -Danuta
