East Side Ruby & Rails Study Group

Let's Learn Ruby & Ruby on Rails

One Week at a Time

For your convenience there are two groups meeting simultaneously one on the West side of L.A. in Santa Monica and on the East side in Glendale (this location may change.)

We meetup with our laptops and are working through Zed Shaw's Learn Ruby the Hard Way. We'll discuss it and go over the examples together. We'll help each other figure out the harder parts and really understand it. You should be able to do some work on your own too so we can all stay on the same page/book on both sides of town. Our emphasis is on really getting down the basics and being able to discuss it with each other instead of rushing forward.

We meet every Thursday night 6-9pm.

Don't feel intimidated if you are brandy new to Ruby or Ruby on Rails; we will help you get up to speed if you are willing to put in the time. If you are more advanced; you can learn by helping others learn while having a dedicated study night. Maybe you even have a demonstration you are willing to share with the group.

Once a month both sides of town will meet up and have a demonstration of something new. We intend on learning a lot. Spread the word. You don't have to be a woman to attend but we do want to have a good learning environment where no one is nervous to ask the most basic question.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
