Hello Los Angeles Young Makers,

I spent the afternoon at the MakerFaire Educators meeting and have posted  a few photos on the group Facebook page. If you haven't already heard, they announced a new program that links to the LAYM mission really well. It's called the  Maker Education Initiative and will "explore working with partners in our community to promote more opportunities for children and teens to participate in making activities". I spoke to the directors and they were really interested in our 'use community resources to fill empty spaces' approach to building makerspaces in LA. Westside/Culver City kicks off on May 31st at the reDiscover Center and we've got two other sites almost lined up. So check out the photos, come to a meeting, and be part of a makerspace project in your neighborhood!
