“Oh Sh#t…there’s NOT an APP for that!” (a panel discussion)
4/25 –Weds - 7pm - Vlounge – Santa Monica
WE HAVE OUR PANELISTS!!!
Alrighty folks, feast your eyes on the amazing powerhouse of talent TCI has gathered to discuss what it takes to get that idea outa your head and onto every mobile device out there.
All this wisdom and it wont cost you a dime to get in! Parking is even free on Wilshire after 6pm and I am told there is non-permit parking on 20th, 21st, and Arizona. (www.vloungela.com)
As always Technical Connections will be providing some snacks and appetizers available on a first come first eat basis. And need I remind you, soda, coffee/tea and waters are free at the bar…oh…and there is a BAR! So you can grab a drink too! (Please bring ID and must be over 21).
On with the intros:
Hank Leber – Co-Founder & CEO, GonnaBe
Hank is an entrepreneur turned musician turned adman turned entrepreneur again (resistance is futile). He is a visionary CEO who would gain "ninja" status if it weren't such an uncool term. GonnaBe has gained buzz and attention from investors, businesses, and national brand partners – and is a prime example of finding a need and nailing it with a simple execution.
You'll see Hank on a boat, in the sky, up a mountain, inside a lab, or watching people at the bus stop. However, these days when Hank is not working on GonnaBe he is sleeping.
Sarah MacKinnon – Sr. User Experience Designer at eHarmony.com
Okay so there is a huge amount of nepotism going on during these Meetups, but that’s only because Sarah’s got skills when it comes to UI/UX. So you got this great idea, and it is going to change the universe as we know it, but its ease of use feels as if a Caleico Vision and an ATM mated. If users were to see this app they would run away screaming into the night since there is no “back” button. Sarah can help with that.
Jad Meouchy – Software Entrepreneur - Brandstand
If you haven’t met Jad, shame on you. He has been active in LA’s development scene for a number of years now, and he knows the technical components, the secret-sauce, needed to get something from concept out to market faster than a cheetah on trucker pills. Start-ups dream of having a heavy-duty Swiss-Army knife like Jad on their team but he’s got bigger plans and is working night and day and then night again on his own startup ventures.…
Ryan Budke – Director of Product / CEO & Co-founder – Project Comet
Seen it, done it, been there and is back, Ryan can tell you what works and what doesn’t. He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and his ear is literally glued to the technology highway. Ryan has the unique skill of being able to take pre-existing ideas that may have stalled or lost their mojo, and kickin’ some life into them. In LA content is quickly becoming the name of the game and Ryan has been finding new avenues to journey down in order to get the masses their media.
That’s it…this is the end of the announcement
why are you still reading?
Alrighty folks…we’re back and more fantasmatical than ever.
“Oh Sh#t…there’s NOT an APP for that!”
4/25 –Weds - 7pm - Vlounge – Santa Monica
The last event we hosted at the VLounge was a great success and we have learned mucho from that initial launching pad. We promise better sound, better timing, better networking and a new format…it’s panel time!
Please join us for what will be a rousing discussion about what to do when you actually think up a mobile application that doesn’t exist in our universe…yet. Or, to simplify, how does this go from my brain to my phone?
We have some great panelists lined up already. I am not going to name names yet, but these folks are going to provide incredible insight into the wondrous world of mobile application development. They range from startup veterans, UI/UX professionals, developers, and some hybrids that can do a little bit of everything.
Now what I need from you are questions…what do you want to know??? What are the riddles that need unraveling…how do you find that secret sauce? Do I go mobile web, iOS, Android…RIM (who the hell realizes the initials of their company spells out RIM and expects to succeed?)
Please shoot me questions at: [masked]
We will probably have networking from 7-7:30ish and then on with the show. As always, we will be providing some appetizers/snacks available on a first come first eat basis. Also, don’t forget about our wonderful door prizes / raffle.
So come on down to the VLounge on April 25th and we will pummel the panelist with pertinent perplexities.
