This is an established meditation group running for more than 6 years opening up to new members using meetup.com. We are an small group that is non-dogmatic, non-sectarian and primarily focused on meditation practice and sutta study. The group meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at a private residence in Los Feliz near Griffith Park. Meetings consist of a 20 minute silent meditation followed by a 40 minute dharma/sutta talk led by Sunim Hye Wol, followed by another 20 minute sit. Afterwards we have tea and conversation.

Rev. Hye Wol Sunim was first ordained in Sri Lanka in 1977 and took robes in the Korean Zen tradition in 1984. Rev Sunim studied with Buddhist masters in Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. He arrived in the US in 1991. He translates Pali texts and teaches the early Pali canon. Rev. Sunim founded the Meditation Center for Zen Communities and is the abbot of MCZC in Pearblossom. Rev. Sunim also conducts meditation classes in Chatsworth, Altadena, pearblossom and Parlos verdes. Rev. Sunim is the guiding teacher for LA Dharma.org and The Insight Center.
