Hi everyone! Sorry for the long period of silence! To get things going again, I'm setting up an event that is a collaboration with one of my favorite other meetup groups, Three City Blocks, which is led by fellow Los Feliz Social Club member Liana Yangson-Wilcox. What does this mean? It means that we'll have twice the amount of fun.
Three City Blocks selects neighborhoods all over Los Angeles and gets to know them 3 blocks at a time. So, if you joined LFSC because you're new to the neighborhood, this will be perfect for you. And even if you're a long-time resident, sometimes seeing the area through the eyes of others that haven't been here before helps to appreciate everything anew. So, I hope you'll join us and celebrate our own perfect little slice of Los Angeles.
The plan is to start at the Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park to check out the current exhibit. Then we'll walk north to Vermont Avenue and peruse the shops up to Franklin. We'll end at Figaro Bistrot, for late afternoon snacks and drinks. Their happy hour is from 4-7pm daily.
PLEASE NOTE: Since we will be a larger group, Liana is going to make a reservation at Figaro. So PLEASE let us know in the comments section if you plan on joining us for that when you RSVP. I will remind everyone as the date gets closer.
Lastly, there is also a book reading at Skylight Books we can try to catch for those still up for hanging. It starts at 5pm. See their website for more info: www.skylightbooks.com/event/emma-straub-reads-vacationers.
