Do you have a current art project? Idea? Do you need help with it?

Short-Term Project: I aim to be faster and more accurate (proportions, perspective, and muscle anatomy) in my quick sketches. I also want my figures to look confident, have presence, and attitude. Two artists that immediately come to mind are Steve Huston and Kevin Chen. Long-Term Project: Figure invention for comics and story boarding. Do I need help with these projects? I welcome all outside constructive criticism!

What types of art materials/mediums do you like to work with?

I regularly bring my 18" x 24" pad of newsprint with Conte - Pierre Noire pencils to these workshops. My media of choice are Prismacolor Art Markers and Prismacolor pencils. Feel free to check out my "studies" on my Facebook page. I will be taking Perspective Observational Drawing class under Gary Meyer at 3Kicks Studio beginning January 2012. I'm pretty versatile overall.

What is your figure drawing experience and what would you like from a figure drawing meetup?

I've been trained by Mark Westermoe and Glen Orbik in the past. Now, I regularly attend analytical figure drawing workshops with Kevin Chen at Concept Design Academy (Sun) and figurative quick sketch with Esmeralda Acosta at Kline Academy (Wed). When I'm not in "class" I'm attending uninstructed figure drawing workshops all over the place. I've noticed advances in my abilities between classes but nothing like when I began attending these uninstructed workshops. Now I'm hooked! What I would like from a figure drawing meetup is to simply have the opportunity to draw.

Besides making art - how do you express yourself creatively?

I'm also a big fan of personal development. I love sharing my life (and art) experiences with my high school students.

What are your passions?

I am passionate about life drawing, storytelling, (art) teaching practices, personal development, collecting illustrations (when I can afford it), art books (Amazon), various interpretations of the human figure by my favorite artists ranging from contemporary to classical, and...pin-ups!
