There are two types of puerh tea: raw and cooked. Raw puerh is traditionally processed, fermenting in a humid room for at least 10 years. Cooked puerh was developed to meet the rising demand for this tea. The ‘cooking’ expedites the fermenting process. This lecture will explain the different manufacturing processes, history and health benefits. Chinese people drink puerh during heavy meals, because they believe the tea helps with digestion and lowers cholesterol.Tastings of each puerh style is included.
