The Broward Lotus Sangha will be meeting today for mindfulness meditation practice with Special Guest Teacher Jeff Roth
From 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
At ArtServe, 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL

biggrinPLEASE NOTE THAT TONIGHT'S SANGHA MEETING IS NOT AT OUR PEMBROKE PINES LOCATION. Instead, we are meeting At ArtServe (1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale) as we are expecting a much larger number of people to attend that would fit in our regular meditation hall laughing

During this special gathering we will enjoy sitting and walking meditation, as well as a dharma talk by Rabbi Jeff Roth. Please be punctual. We will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. (It would be advisable to arrive by 6:15 p.m. in order to give yourself a chance to mindfully find our new location and a place to seat and become acquainted with the Sangha). Feel free to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring your favorite seating arrangement (For your convenience, chairs are provided and a limited number of Zafus and Zabutons are available on a first come, first served basis).

Rabbi Jeff Roth , a long time student of Dr. Sylvia Boorstein, is founder and director of the Awakened Heart Project. His teachings offer a fresh take on meditation that focuses on using the distilled wisdom of Judaism and Buddhism as a way to learn from life experience. By combining these two traditions, he presents a model that allows Westerners of all backgrounds to embrace timeless Eastern teachings without sacrificing their birth traditions. Through didactic presentations and the time to practice and implement what we learn, participants will learn the basic skills needed to continue practice on their own.

Directions:
ArtServe is located on the south side of Sunrise Blvd near Holiday Park, east of I-95, between US-1 South and US-1 North on Sunrise Blvd. 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, [masked].

I very much enjoyed Rabbi Jeff's teachings, although I wasn't able to stay til the end. The food was good and I appreciate the hard work that went into setting the meeting up. The only thing that left me with a negative feeling (and this may be just my stuff), was the rather shaming comment about $$ made after dinner. I am sure others may not realize that the tradition is to make Dana or Love Offerings in appreciation, and although I understand this I don't need to be reminded in that way. I would have paid $20 and been perfectly comfortable with that, or perhaps gentle reminders that the Rabbi was offering his time freely and an offering would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your love and hard work in carrying this message of Mindfulness. hugs, Pam D.
