Since this is the first meeting, let's keep it casual, a meet-and-greet. It you'd like to bring a short piece to read aloud, great! If you have a question about writing or some advice to share, also great! Hope to see you there!

Might stop by to say hi, but wish we could all admire Beth's singing voice too!

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it tomorrow (last minute change of plans) but I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in the near future. Will anyone be posting notes from the meeting?

As promised, the notes are posted under Discussions. We'll have another meeting next week, hope to see you there!

I was really looking forward to coming out today, but unfortunately I am down for the count with a back pull. Hope the intro went well. Looking forward to saying hi next week!

Liz and all the talent ready to join this wonderful group ... please forgive me as out-of-town company arrived unexpectedly. Please keep me included and know that I need a group of writers who are brave enough to reach for the stars or reach into the unknown to find stellar stories. Mary Ellen/MEg

I'm a bit worried about our location. We are there consistently at the same time as Art Klub. They're the nice folks who sit in the back. They're also very friendly so we could just work with them as an über-group. But I barely make any Sunday meeting as there's typically housework over the weekend which is already being regretfully sacrificed on Saturdays. Also, was this your idea or David's? Either way, well done!

OK, I'm going to put my 2 cents in here again. Keeping in mind, I won't be able to attend all of meetups. This is more food for thought. - First, I don't see wahy Atlanta bread would be upset with us - second, I think you have an opportunity to really grow in Loudoun. I look through meetup from time to time and really there is very little in the way of writing and science fiction. I'm part of a graphic novel group because it's as close as I can get. Most everything is in fairfax. Granted, ya'll have the bigger population but Loudoun is catching up (which I personally don't think is a good thing) My point is - you see how crazy busy the Saturday's group is - it's because there is nothing like it here. The survival rate of the group is probably greater. Again just a thought. I realize it's Elizabeth's group and she doesn't live here - I get that.

Yep. Elizabeth and I live in Herndon and she runs a Loudoun group and I run a Reston group and none of our meetups actually meet in our home town. Well, the Science Book Club does but that started meeting in Herndon long before I took over.

I spoke with the manager at Atlanta Bread Co. and got permission to meet there on Sundays. He didn't think our meetings would interfere with the Art Klub, so I think we're good.

Oh, I know they enjoy our business, just saying keep our options opened. Stone's Cove or Ashburn for instance.

Visa Vi venue, maybe we could, since this is 3 times a month, spend the first few meeting rotating to get an idea for possibilities before settling on a permanent location.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
