SPECIAL EVENT! Reflections on a Decade of Paranormal Investigation: a Lecture by Benjamin Radford

Join writer and scientific paranormal investigator Benjamin Radford as he discusses the nature of “unexplained mysteries” such as ghosts, Bigfoot, crop circles, and psychic powers. What does science say about the evidence for these topics? What is the nature of the “unexplained”? And why is there still debate about these issues? Radford will draw from case studies over a decade of personal investigations into these and dozens of other topics. Skeptics and believers alike will enjoy this interesting and informative talk. There will be plenty of time for audience Q&A. Radford is a Research Fellow with the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, managing editor of Skeptical Inquirer magazine, columnist for LiveScience.com, and author of five books and hundreds of articles on skepticism, investigation, and the paranormal.

Join us for dinner at 7:00pm, the talk will begin at 8:00pm.

There will be a $10 charge for this event to cover expenses. You can pay in advance here using Paypal, or you can pay me in advance over snail mail, just email me for details.

NOTE: This will be the first of two events featuring Benjamin Radford. The second will be a 3-hour, hands-on workshop "Scientific Paranormal Investigation" on Tuesday, September 28, at 7pm. RSVP for that event separately here. If you attend the workshop, you will get this event free, so people who attend BOTH events will get a $10 refund!!

We will be enjoying a new venue! The brand-new upstairs meeting room at Wick's Pizza is very large, and very nice. It is easy to get to, just cross the Sherman Minton bridge (I-64) into New Albany, and take the exit ramp at the end of the bridge. The restaurant is just a few blocks away!

I am slightly biased, being Ben Radford's Biggest Fan (TM), but I thoroughly enjoyed the lecture and the lively Q&A at the end. The discussion was very interesting, and I learned a lot.

Ben's presentation was very engaging, and was properly skeptical - not "these things don't exist", but "let's look at all the possibilities". His hour-long presentation was followed by another hour of Q&A, and he could've kept going strong.
