Old Apple tree pruning survey and early seed swap/DATE CONFIRMED!!

PLEASE NOTE:  This meetup will occur on Thursday at 3.  The property owner is not available on Friday so we will meet on Thursday even if it's raining.  There will be a canopy tent to get out of the rain while discussing pruning and for exchanging seeds.  The meetup Rain Date for this event will be Friday 12/21, same time, same location.  We will meet in the main entrance parking lot.

The people made a less-than-perfect weather-wise event quite pleasant.

The smooth small "bean" like seeds were thorn less Honey locust, the round rough seeds are Ju-Jube. Here is how to sprout the Jujube- http://youtu.be/kSkVnExxTeg

Here is how to sprout the honey locust - https://sheffields.com/seed_genus_species_lot/Gleditsia/triacanthos/100544///Inermis// I tried it both ways with hot water and acid, with great success. I would recommend sticking with hot water, if you have some that don't swell then just do it again. Let me know if you have any questions - Ken

Thanks, Ken. My dad still talks about the pawpaw tree he used to have in Germantown growing up as a boy.
