Monthly New Climber Meetup at RockSport - For Climbers New and Old

Hey you Totally New Climbers and Not-So-New-Climbers, come on out and climb with us!

If it's your first time on a rope, you will be required to take a quick introductory course to teach you the basics of the figure 8 follow-through knot and how to belay a climber from a top rope. The introductory course starts at 7pm, and you'll have to fill out some paperwork first. The cost for the class is $35 which includes harness and shoe rental, admission, and lesson.

NOTE: You can climb without taking the class, you just won't be able to belay your partner until you do.

If you've been to Rocksport before and don't need the class, the cost of admission is $12 plus shoe and harness rental. ($8.00). If you have your own shoes and harness, you don't have to pay the rental fee. Rocksport is located in an industrial area and only has a small sign near the road - so be sure to look for the address.

I jumped the gun... no rock climbing for awhile...may need back surgery so it could be some time but it's on my list of goals for this year. Have fun!

I’ll be there from around 6:30-9:30. Last night I learned that there will be a large group at RockSport until around 7:30. It’s all very laid back. Feel free to come by around 6:30, or feel free to wait until the crowd subsides an hour later.
