Outdoor meetups and Training Sessions

Group Organizer

I am posting the following suggestions for organizers scheduling outdoor meetups or training sessions:

1) If you attend an outdoor climbing meetup, it is important for you to realize your safety is your responsibility only and not the organizer's. It is up to the organizer to limit attendees to these meetups in order to insure group safety.

2) It is recommended that if you schedule an outdoor meetup that you meet all people attending and are familiar with their experience prior to going. Also, it is recommended for rope climbs that the number in the group be limited so as not irritate others at the crag with a large group and to require a minimum number of experienced lead climbers at the meetup.

3) For training meetups, it is recommended that we limit the number of people attending and not monoploze the gym when it is too crowded to do so. We may need to split these days up in the future and have 2 training sessions that are repeated so that there are not too many people at 1 of them.

Thanks and hope to see y'all soon.

Thanks, Mandy, for the advice! It's always best to exercise caution and discretion with this sport.
