Wine Tasting: 2014 Kiwi & Aussie Winemakers Tour

Some of the rock stars of the Down Under winemaking world are on tour at a premium showcase event usually restricted to the wine & hospitality trade....... until now!

Over 100 fine wines to be sampled + a selection of other specialty products including cider, beer, spirits and Antipodes water.

General admission ticket of $38 is all inclusive of samples and light refreshments.

If wine tasting is your thing, grab yourself a ticket (don't leave it too long :-) and we'll see you there!

Hey Guys, I'll be loitering around the brochure stand near the Information Office in the foyer, ground floor of Michael Fowler Centre from 5.45pm. Blond chick, glasses, orange top. If lost, you can get me on[masked] 7737. Otherwise, we'll all be randomly wandering among the vino offerings sampling. Cheers, Tania

Hi Aisha, excellent question. Unfortunately I am without Max the alien today. Leave it with me and I will post a meeting point shortly. :-)

Not sure where is good but thinking hearty food that isn't over priced...I know that's not really helpful but haven't eaten out that much. Pub grub maybe?? And somewhere warm... Or the indian, Mint, Monsoon Poon on Blair or Allen??...

Cheap, fast and cheerful pub grub sounds good. We'll see where our feet take us shall we.

Has anyone tried buying tickets yet? I went to get mine and saw that each ticket admits two people.

Oooo..how strange? I went into ticketek to get mine as didnt want to pay the processing fees so think mine is 1 general admission o_O you probs want the R18 to ensure you can drink?? Maybe the 2 for 1 is if you have an underage person. But not sure why you would take an underager to wine tasting... :&

annoyingly, I have a night school course that won't finish until 7:30pm. I would be interested in joining for dinner if it's around the 8pm mark though

Well, one mustn't neglect one's education. I recommend you exercise your right to taste by proxy. Let us know which wines you'd like to sample and the rest of us, duly empowered, will conduct the tastings for you. :-) Will update you on post-tasting dinner as developments come to hand.
