When: November 23,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Hello,

I want to honor you for joining the new meetup Love . In times of challenge, it takes a movement to create change and provide hope to a community. I thank and honor you for joining us in this moment in time. We will connect and set our intentions as a group very soon. The first event to inspire the community will be on November 23rd working with the annual Thanksgiving Basket Brigade. It will be a life changing event that I have been passionate about for many years! Please bring you family, your friends, and invite anyone in need of inspiration, love, or healing. It's time to step up. This is going to be an amazing movement. Thank you for joining and I will see you very soon. The details are below. Please rsvp quickly and tell me the number of people coming, if you can help deliver the baskets, and or how many baskets you can help with. Loving you, Tim Gorts[masked]

The Thanksgiving Basket Brigade is about reaching out and showing compassion for a family in need. It is about creating a meaningful & positive experience for the volunteers.
Last year, the Anthony Robbins Foundation volunteers fed over 350,000 people in 25 countries. Since its inception, over 3 million people have been touched by generosity of people like you. Last year, The Luxury of Leather volunteers delivered over 150 baskets. This year, our goal is to deliver 250 baskets!

How Does It Work
We ask for volunteers to provide one food basket that will feed a family of four.
A volunteer could be one individual, or the combined efforts of family members, friends, co-workers, school department or corporations. The value of the food contents in the baskets range from $25 to $50. The names of the families who will receive the baskets will be provided to us by Catholic Charities of Dallas. These families have escaped from countries that are torn apart by war or famine. Many came to our country with only their clothes. Shelter and job training for one year is part of the program provided by Catholic Charities of Dallas.

The baskets ( please use plastic laundry baskets with handles), are filled with the traditional foods that make up a Thanksgiving dinner. Every basket should include canned vegetables (green beans, corn, peas ), bread(loaf or rolls), dessert ( cooked pies or cookies) , and a cooked chicken ( fried or baked ). Fresh fruit (apple, oranges), and small bag of potatoes are great too. We no longer give ham due to religious backgrounds of the families, and we discovered that some families didn?t know how to cook the turkeys. Last year, the baskets that went to families with children also contained gently used clothes, gently used toys, cereal, milk, diapers, juice, & toiletries. The volunteers may request for the names of the families in advance if they wish to personalize the baskets.

All the baskets will be delivered on Sunday, November 23rd to each family. Volunteers are also needed for the delivery. We meet at our factory at 7:30am. The address is 3361 Boyington Drive, suite 120, Carrollton TX 75006. Donuts, juice, & coffee will be provided. All the food baskets will be loaded onto our furniture delivery truck. Then everyone will travel to the apartment complex where the families live and personally deliver the baskets. We will be back at the factory by 10:30am. This experience is the highlight of the program. Please bring your children as part of the delivery team. They will benefit from the experience the most. Once we are all back at the factory, brunch will be served.

Last year was a little hectic on delivery day because we had so many baskets that were not tagged with the families? names ahead of time. This year, please bring your baskets to our factory beginning Monday, November 17th, and no later than Friday 21st. We will need the time to tag and color code your baskets for delivery.

Thank you in advance for your participation? make a difference in the World!
