For security purposes, please make sure to bring a current photo ID with you to the volunteer check-in area and arrive early enough to check in and get to your assigned station for training.

Day of Event Volunteers

15 years old and older can volunteer by them selves (Register for one ticket per volunteer 15 and older)

8-14 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone and a ticket is not required

Groups with 8-14 years old need a 4:1 ratio-meaning one adult (18 years old or older) for every four children. These groups usually include scout troops, school classes, church groups, etc. For example, if there was a group of 17 11-year olds who wanted to volunteer for an event, five chaperones must accompany them and you would just register the five chaperones.

Volunteers need to work an entire shift as assigned, volunteer assignments are not given for partial shifts. Volunteers need to be flexible so that they can conclude a heat if the shift runs over due to competition running late.

All volunteers are welcome. If all athlete-assistance positions have been filled by the time you arrive, you will be assigned as spectators (cheer leaders) or water brigade personnel. We ask that you do not bring small children to the competitions unless you have someone to care for them, since the athletes will require most of your attention.

Lunch will be provided for all day volunteers and drinking water will be provided at each venue.

Attire: Please dress for comfort and mobility. Wear comfortable shoes - you will be on your feet most of the time.

Parking: General parking is available at UTA Maverick Stadium.

In the case of inclement weather (rain, etc.) the competitions will continue. Please arrive on time unless you hear otherwise through radio or television stations. Each volunteer must fill out a short registration form before participating. This form simply requires name, address, phone number, and signature: this form will be available at the volunteer check in station.
