CNC Course building and Advanced Users Group

I am going to write the CNC course this Saturday. If you are an advanced user or have used milling equipment before you are more than welcome to attend. I will go over the basics of turning the Tormach PC770 CNC mill on and driving it around. I will not be going over the basics of machining. That will be reserved for the main course.

I will not be teaching a formal class. I am using this time to meet with experienced machinists to formulate the course curriculum. If you have never used a mill, this is not the time to come. There will be a new meetup for the introductory class

Good to meet some local guys with like interested. Here is my professional contact if anyone wants to send me their resumes I would be glad to turn them in at FIRST RF ([masked])
I just had back surgery yesterday so you won't see me around for a while but I hope to start getting involved after my recovery.

The classes today all sound interesting. Unfortunately, Tina's ill so I'm looking after Savena, and she isn't as interested as I am! One day...

Will you be covering CAD and CAM, such as Linux CNC, Solid works, etc?

Not in this event. This event is designed "train the trainers"- (those that have prior machining experience and are willing to teach future introduction classes to others) on the basic operation of the Tormach mill. If this is you, please attend!
If you have skills to share with others for CAD and CAM software, please help organize others into an event to develop a class for that- there are several folks that can help.

I can certainly share some insights on CAD and CAM software for Mac OS X. (Unfortunately there aren't many options on this platform.)

Thanks for getting this going Casey! I'm happy to be the note-taker, if you like
