Just looking for active things to do here in the low country!
We are a group of adventurers who love the outdoors, especially hiking, kayaking, canoeing, bike riding, and walking the beach. We also have indoor adventures including lunches and dinners (especially after an outdoor adventure), happy hours, comedy clubs, and whatever else we feel like. And meeting new people and making new friends along the way makes it even better!

NEW MEMBERS: please read the following sections before joining our group.
DOES THIS MEETUP COST MONEY? The organizer pays the fees to Meetup.com, and active members (attend more than 1 Meetup) are asked to donate at least $5 per year toward this expense. Please give this donation directly to Nancy when you see her, or mail to it her (documenting your User Name and Picture as it appears on this web site):

All organizers are volunteers and work hard to post no-cost activities. Occasionallyhowever, some events have fees that are passed on at cost.
CARPOOLINGWe often meet at a designated spot then carpool or car follow to an event. Please see each event for futher information. The carpool drivers are volunteers and it is important to keep in mind that the wear and tear on their vehicles is far greater than just the gas spent on the trip. Thus being said, it is requested that all passengers of a carpool pay the gas, tolls, and all parking fees relating to the trip. Over paying the driver is far better than under paying them! If you cannot afford to contribute your share, please let the event organizer know in advance so they may try to put you with a driver who is able to “cover” your expenses. Not sure how much to give? My recommendation is to be generous! If you think this is extreme, then I recommend YOU volunteer to drive your car on the next event and let others pay your gas, etc. DO NOT volunteer to drive if you can not read a map, follow directions, or have an unreliable vehicle!
RULES OF CONDUCTThis is a fun group, and our members are very diverse. I have been amazed at the diversity of our members and how well everyone has gotten along. I would also like this group to be as “open” as possible, with members suggesting and leading events (when possible), and not putting limits on things. Unfortunately, I need to mention a few things, and limit a few things. And yes, they are common sense to most people, but I need to be clear on where this group stands.
We have as current members, at least 6 different religions represented, and of course the full spectrum of political views. As I said before, I am amazed at how many conversations I have witnessed and been a part of on these controversial topics where everybody showed mutual respect and got along. Good for us! We don’t, and shouldn’t in my opinion, all believe the same things. It’s what makes the world go around!
For the most part however, controversial topics are best left alone while at a meetup. But as we get to know one another, these topics will naturally arise and I do not want to say “Off Limits” to anyone. I think it is healthy for people to discuss whatever they want, and get to know one another. This group however is not a place for anyone to push their views on others, so here is this Group's rules:
· If anyone asks for a topic to be dropped or not started (especially religion and politics), drop it immediately!
· Do not push your views on anyone for any reason!
· Do not cause a scene of any kind for any reason!
· Do not deliberately insult any other member for any reason!
If you fail to abide by the above rules you will be removed from this group.
