Introduction: If you enjoy an evening out for a nice meal & a movie, then this group is perfect for you. We attend evening shows any day of the week, and catch the occasional afternoon show on the weekend. Although a lot of our events do involve a meal before or after a show, sometimes we just go to the movie. You can also join us just for the meal if you want.

We see movies of every genre; Action, arthouse, chick flicks, classics, comedies, documentaries, dramas, fantasy, foreign, horror, indie, romantic comedies, science fiction, suspense, thrillers, & so much more.

NOTE: It is a requirement for membership that you fill out the Introduction, and upload a picture of yourself (NO ANIMATED, GROUP PHOTOS, COUPlE PHOTOS, OR ANIMAL PHOTOS, PICTURE MUST BE MAINLY OF YOURSELF ONLY, WITH NOBODY ELSE IN IT), onto your profile before membership can be approved. It is ok to have young children and pets in the picture, if the main portion of the picture is made up of the Member, and there is no confusion as to who the member is. It is also required that you maintain a photo on your profile of just yourself. We require th because when a new member meets the group for the first time it is essential for the Organizer (myself), and other members to be able to recognize you. This is beneficial for both the group & organizers as well as the new member, so you are not wandering around the Theater and/or restaurant trying to find us, as well as us trying to find/meet you for the first time. With a photo posted of the member, it also helps me to run the group more efficiently, thereby causing no confusion when the group is meeting at a location, and looking for the Organizer and other members, I have heard on more than one occasion that people showed up at events with other groups, and were confused about and didn't know where the rest of their group was located. As a result of this, I have also heard it said that they ended up attending the event alone, or left altogether because of the confusion of where the rest of the group was. I feel that I try my best to pay attention to details, so this group can be well organized and events can be run and carried off smoothly. It is also required that you provide us with a name for identification purposes as well. An abbreviation of your name is acceptable, and nicknames are exceptable as long as it is a real name. No code names, fake made up names, or initials will be accepted. Again, our goal is reduce stress and confusion at events by being able to identify members easily.
No Show Policy: If you RSVP "yes" for an event and later cannot make it, we require that you come back to the Meetup site and update your RSVP to "no" ASAP. You must update your RSVP at least one hour PRIOR to the event, or you will be counted as a "No Show". If something happens that you cannot attend, its up to you to contact the host ASAP after the event. You will be counted as a "No Show" without exception if we do not hear from you. If we do hear from you, whether you will still be counted as a no show, will be at the discretion of the Organizer. If a member is a "No Show" 3 times without an explanation to either the host or myself, they will be removed from "Pittsburgh Silver Screen Dinner & a Movie" group.
RSVP's; There is not a "Maybe" option for RSVP's. And, there will be no RSVP's considered after the time noted for RSVP's to be ended, listed on the Event's page.
