Stealing Home (Depot) f/k/a Don't Be a Target!

5:30 - 6:00: Pizza & Networking | 6:00 - 8:00: Presentation |

Presentation: Stealing Home (Depot) f/k/a Don't Be a Target!

First it was Target and now it's Home Depot, Dairy Queen, Neiman Marcus, Michael's and so many others. How does this keep happening?! In this session we'll take a look at not only how the data breach at Target happened, but what the thieves did with their takings, how it might have been prevented, and why the bank may not care all that much. Along the way you'll learn ways to secure your own information so you don't become the next Target, or Home Depot, or Adobe, or Sally, or. ...

Session Level: Non-Technical

Speaker: Eric Selje

Speaker photoEric Selje is a developer and consultant in Madison, WI who works on a wide variety of applications, from desktop to intranet to internet to web - all of them requiring databases. Eric has worked for private businesses, non-profits, and is now working for the U.S. Courts. He has been a user group leader since 1995, and other than coding he loves playing Ultimate and baseball, doing crosswords and reading.
