Barry has said he gets 50 on his Volt. My Leaf is the same way with the warm weather. Range is rapidly improving.

I'm curious about your Leaf's range comment. Have you seen a substantial decrease in range? I haven't in mine. As the temperature warms up my range is coming back up to what it has been.

I did okay yesterday but if $40 more per month, part of it will be to return to non-hypermiled, outrageous highway speeds (69 mph on the beltway). Sure, it only saves me 5 or so minutes of my 1 hr commute but still, it'd be nice to not be the pokey LEAF.

There is a self-park garage for the Shopping Center with a Giant Food store behind the Walgreens (4303 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008). We think it is $9.00 max, probably less for only 2 hours.

There is metered parking on the street at that time in the morning.

Also the charging stations at the Days Inn seem to be safe.

There is also a small garage under the Walgreens that has a 30 minute limit. Maybe park there and go upstairs to tell the manager you are there to meet eVgo and ask if it is ok for you to stay till noon. We've got a query out to NRG to ask the Walgreens about parking there. If we here back before Saturday, we will post the info. here.

Thanks Lanny. Since this is not an official unveiling of the working charging station (and just a behind the scenes look see for us by NRG), we've decided not to bother Walgreens given that their lot is very small and this is a busy time of day for them. Hopefully most people will be down by the cherry blossoms Saturday!

There aren't any signs saying it's for guests only, and plugshare says it's public access. When I was there Wednesday afternoon, one space was ice'd. Also, the tops of the evse's have the ParkNow! icon, just as the street meters do, so it looks pretty public to me, although I dodn't talk to Days Inn directly. You could call them to make sure, though. The evse's are around a corner out of view of the office, though, so if you parked there, they probably wouldn't even notice. But calling would probably be safest.

As for the eVgo site, it has the 480V quick charger, and another device under a cardboard box, which I think will be the 240V L2 charger. I didn't lift it up, but Michael said before that the location is going to be L2 and L3.

I called Days Inn and they said anybody can use the two SemaConnect Charging stations there. It is probably a good idea to confirm this at the front desk and let them know you are there. There is a fee for the charging stations. $2.50 an hour at last check.

The good folks at eVgo had expected it to be up and running by now but there have been some unforeseen delays. The good news is that the equipment is installed and David from eVgo will be there to show us the unit and explain how it works.
