EV Gathering/Coffee Meetup

Come out to Sidamo Coffee and Tea in Fulton, MD on Saturday morning to relax and reminisce about the National Plug In Day activities at MOM's in Timonium, Waldorf, Herndon and College Park.

This is an informal gathering of EV enthusiasts the first Saturday of each month to meet and talk while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.

There are six SemaConnect Charging Stations in a nearby parking lot. The charging stations require a prepaid SemaCharge card or use the new Pay with PlugShare smartphone app capability.

I was thinking last year of showing off my R49 Insulation and #CO2Fre Nissan LEAF but decided with everything else who has the time and how do you show R49 Insulation: here, climb this ladder, into the crall space, see, thick isn't it? And it cost me net $0 to install *and* I'm saving money!

I'll be home showing off my GM Voltec 240V charging station on the Maryland Green Homes Tour, in Columbia, MD.

On Wednesday night, I was able to successfully use the new "Pay with PlugShare" feature on my iPhone at the Maple Lawn SemaConnect stations. There appears to be a surcharge of about 35 cents to use the app to pay. Otherwise, it is still $1.00 per hour. You must have PlugShare version 3.5 or higher installed on your iPhone. They say the Pay with PlugShare feature is coming to Android but it isn't available yet. They are also working to expand the service to other networks besides SemaConnect.

So, if you have an iPhone, make sure you have the latest version of PlugShare and you can try it out on Saturday.

If I go, I'll have to leave pretty early, because I'm on the Solar Homes Tour the same day, in Laurel, MD.

Actually, I think the intention is to do as last year and make it a meeting followed by the solar tour, but Lanny and Vera went on one of their famous road trips so it was just Vladi and I in the end. But like I said, I just can't after organizing, with a lot of help from Mark, the area's biggest Plug-In Day event and all the other thing. I need a break from EV stuff. Sorry.

I want to come and relax with my friends and not have to do anything!

Okay, then let's do a via-skype meeting so I can see Barry in Timonium and Lanny in College Park; oh, wait, you mean "reminisce about the … activities *which were held at* …" Okay, well, next month. I really can only do one of these weekend EV events a month. I get in trouble if I try to do more, especially with my dribble-charging 100% electric 3.3kW bottleneck.

Jeffrey, I love my little 3.3kw Bottleneck. Neil Diamond is a fun little buggy. But, in your situation, I know how it would drive me nuts to drive-charge-drive like you do.

Plan to come, while I still have the MDVolt graphic on my car. I started taking the NPID ones off. No problems.

BTW, back to the whole American University / West Virginia thread; I do like this idea but not this weekend; could we maybe do it mid-month?

Closed RSVP, eh? Well, I probably won't make it anyway what with it being the week after International Plug In Day, since a quiet weekend after attending 3 events is probably in my interest.
