What good can one do with a Software-Defined Data Center (or SD System)?

January 2014 MESS Meetup:  SDSys Overview: Components & Services

Join the "new MESS" (Media/Entertainment & Scientific Systems) as we explore how to build modern infrastructure using a Software-Defined Systems (SDSys) framework.

SDSys enables central, self-managing control over the full range of computing resources: processing/GPU, storage, network, security, and external cloud. The SDSys model intelligently links the control interface of individual devices into an orchestrated system, resulting in a real-time optimized processing center in which overlapping workloads run efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively.

The January MESS session will be an overview of the SDSys model: Components, Services & Interfaces for building and operating infrastructure that assembles, configures, and tunes itself.

Venue will be announced at a later date.

Let's kick off the new year with a new MESS outlook!

See you soon.

Everyone here is invited to come to SCALE 12x, So Cal Linux Expo, Feb 21, 22,[masked] at the LAX Hilton. We've setup a 50% off code for everyone in the group: LAMSS ( it's a great deal, and the full pass includes most of the Friday events. )

Good discussions on how things will be built in the future, and what we need to be thinking about today.

    Parking info:

The entrance to the Sony lot will be off of Culver Blvd. and Motor. After getting your guest pass from the security guard at the entrance you will make an immediate left and then another left into the parking structure. Park on the third floor and above (first and second floors are reserved). Once parked walk back towards the security gate and make a left. Continue walking until you see Stage 7 on a building to your left and go inside.
