Fahnestock Hike - Charcoal Burners to Perkins Loop

Level of hike:   Intermediate
Round trip distance:   about 5 to 6 miles
Terrain:   Some ups and downs but no sustained ups

We'll hike at a relaxed pace - no one will be left behind.

Fahnestock State Park lies across the border of southern Dutchess County and northern Putnam County on the east side of the Hudson.

This hike is a loop using the Charcoal Burners, Fahnestock, and Perkins trails. Highlights of the hike are two ponds and a long stretch right beside the charming Clove Creek.  We may also see some horses as we pass by the Therapeutic Equestrian Center.

We'll meet at the Pelton Pond parking area and carpool to the trail head, which has limited roadside parking and is difficult to spot.

Suggested donation: $2 to help offset the subscription fee meetup charges to organizers

Directions to the Pelton parking area:

Do not attempt to use GPS for the Fahnestock address in Carmel.  This address is not in the park.  Do not use the map link above or the GPS coordinates on it.

What to bring: water, snacks, lunch, bug repellent

Cancellation info: If I need to cancel I'll send email the night before.

Just a bit confused insofar as directions are concerned. One paragraph says, "Do not attempt to use GPS... Do not use the map link above or the GPS coordinates on it." Since I've never been to Fahnestock, could you give me specific directions from Route 84 after the N-B Bridge?
