Lamboradi Survival Course Part 2: Bush Craft

This Meetup is part 2of 4 of the Lamboradi Survival Course - Sponsored by Xpectre, Inc. -http://xpectre.com/

Part 1: Back Country Basics

Part 2: Bush Craft

Part 3: Foraging Day

Part 4: Last Stand

Where to meet:

Island Lake State Recreation Area – Spring Mill Pond Parking Lot.

Take I-96 to the Kensington Road Exit. Head South across Grand River. The park entrance will be on your left. You will need a Recreation Passport for entry. Otherwise you may purchase a day pass at the gate.

Once past the gate, turn right. Continue down the park road past the rail road bridge. The Spring Mill Pond parking lot will be the second (2nd) lot on your left. We are NOT meeting at the Trail Head Parking Lot.

What to bring:

Wear boots instead of shoes if possible. No sandals, high heels, or platform shoes allowed for your own safety. Long pants are preferred to skirts or kilts. Wear appropriate layered clothing for the weather. Bring water and something to snack on. If possible, bring a digital copy of the course text book: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_VM5NKBb3ziWlZyZVdBYkNGWmc/edit

If you have a knife, please bring it. I have 4 loaners for this event and will have a sharpener on hand.

Part 2: Bush Craft

The skills learned were essential to survival, and I had a lot of happiness and laughter to go with it. Disappointed that almost everyone at the last minute were under the delusion that anything else was going to be more important or better than the Bush Craft course. Weak. Good for me, Katie, and Jim. A lot of one-on-one interaction.

I didn't attend the 1st course, but am a very experienced backcountry hiker, camper, and trip leader. I hope this is ok, as I would really like to be at the next 3 sessions.

Seeing 'kilt' made me laugh out loud. And your course pack entertains me Chris. Looking forward to tomorrow. Hope that was a good ego stroke.

To everyone on the wait list: if people on the "attending" list are no-shows for part 1, I will change their status to "not going", at which point people in the waiting list will be moved to the "attending" list in the order they signed up.

I somehow was moved off of the attending list onto the waitlist... Is there a way to fix this? Please? I'm signed up for the other 3 courses.

Tom, so long as you're on the waiting list, you will be automatically moved to the first available spot.
