You can rent snowshoes at Nature Center. But, they could rent out all on busy day. So, you may rent from REI or just prepare for snow hiking instead. The combination of snow boots, gaiters, and yaktrax would do that.
We will snowshoe nature trails of Story Creek Metropark.
Trails are easy to moderate and scenic around the lake.
We will walk to East Lake Trails and snowshoe on hills near trail B and C. That is where you don't hike when there is no snow.
Purchase a pass at the park office if you don’t have a Metropark annual pass. The office is located before the entrance gate. You won’t miss it.
Annual Pass: $30
Daily Pass: $7
Snowshoes Rental: $7
What to bring:
Water bottle (must have it even at cold days), comfortable shoes (hiking boots/pants are the best if you have), layer of warm clothes, winter jacket, gaiters/yaktrax (just in case).
We will meet up at Nature Center about 10 min drive from the entrance gate. Follow the sign to Nature Center.
