Memorial Day cookout and bonfire

All are welcome. Raise a beer to honor the men and women who died while serving. We'll have grass volleyball, ladder golf, wall climbing (Tough Mudder practice) and more.

Look for an old red barn and white fences. Please park around the U-shaped driveway, or in the paddock, or on the north shoulder of Joy Road. There's a porta-potty near the barn. Call[masked]four-5187 if you get lost.

Bring something to grill or drink or snacks or whatever. I'm going to make Tandoori chicken (on the grill) and Jasmine rice (in the rice cooker). I also have s'mores stuff for later. Please mention what you can bring in comments.

Update: bring a folding chair if you you have one. Please let me know when you arrive if you're a volleyball player. We'll setup a net and boundaries when enough are here.

Don't park on the inside of the u-shaped driveway because that will be the volleyball area.

This is a potluck event so try to bring some contribution of food or drink. Don't bring enough food to feed 71, because if 71 people did that, we would have enough food for 5,041 people. Don't hesitate to bring spicy food. If you bring a crock pot or rice cooker, I'll provide electricity. I could use a volunteer to run the grills.

I could also use some help to split logs, but they're huge so don't bother to bring your axe. I have a 16 lb. splitting mall. Please stand clear if anyone picks it up.

I'll be coming if I can get somebody to cover my shift at work tomorrow. I will bring some sort of a main dish if I come.

    1 · May 25

  • Dylan C.

I think desserts are covered. We could use more things to put on the grill. There are two grills actually and I have plenty of charcoal.

    May 22

    • Dylan C.

It's BYOB, or you can bring a few to share. I don't think anyone has offered to bring beer yet. Cans are preferred because they don't make a mess if I hit one with the mower like glass bottles do :-)

      May 24

    • Christa

One person offered to bring beer now, and I will get some too. After all, the theme was "raise a glass of beer" :)

      2 · May 25

  • Jim S

I will bring a healthy turkey and rice dish

    May 25

  • Sue

I signed up late. Anything I particular I should bring? A case of water and some pop maybe? I will make a green beans to pass. They are superb!!

Wondering if this event is pet-friendly....also, anyone into venison?

    2 · May 23

    • Dylan C.

The event is pet-friendly for friendly pets, and venison is fine if you know how to cook it!

      1 · May 23

    • Teresa
