I have been backpacking about 15 years and leading trips for 7. The longest I have done is 11 days, the coldest I have done is -3F (that really sucked!)
Yes, yes, and who needs a tent?? When I feel luxurious I'll bring the hammock. When I feel spartan I'll lay my pad on the ground and put a tarp over my head.
Anywhere along Lake Superior is great. My top pick (for now) would be Pictured Rocks which includes about 30 miles of hiking on the cliffs above Lake Superior.
I am mostly about backpacking in the non-winter seasons, cross-country/snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking all year long. I could consider extending backpacking to the winter if somebody would loan me the equipment.
I love, in no particular order, the outdoors, llamas, and muenster cheese.
A fantastic group of people to hang out with
