This September 11th will mark the 11th anniversary of one of the most devastating attacks on American soil. The 9/11 attacks by terrorists ran two fully loaded and manned passenger aircraft into the the two main World Trade Center Buildings. Causing their collapse and the resulting damage spread to other buildings as well.

A total of 2752 people lost their lives that day, including hundreds of rescue workers rushing to save civilians.

Today we're going to talk about the facts of that day as well as some of the more popular conspiracy theories about it.

Come and join us for lively discussion, drinks, dinner and debate! This is a good event for Skeptics of Michigan to come together and discuss local, national, worldwide items affecting skeptics. All are welcome to listen and participate.

Please be sure to RSVP so I know how many are coming. That way I can modify the reservation if necessary.

I hope to see you all there!

I didn't get to stick around for any discussion. 90 minutes of video about easily debunked crackpot theories was a bit much for me, especially on such a beautiful day.

We'll revisit the topic again soon. I could not stay either so unfortunately also missed most of the discussion.

Time for an actual 9/11 truther presentation. Michael Shermer is an enemy of the people. Compelling evidence is cropping up to reinforce compelling evidence in opposition to the fabricated govt. position. All the anti truther arguments are lame at best. Why people are afraid of truth is beyond me. The anti-truther packet distributed at the meeting Saturday and at the earlier Ann Arbor skeptic meeting is seriously lacking. Anyone who thinks the tops of the twin towers could grind down the more structurally robust lower portions of the building only to then disappear at ground level is not operating in the real world. There are so many questions I would love to ask of the faithful which they cannot answer. I can only hope there is support for a 9/11 Truther meeting. It is up to you to let Adam and Chris of Ann Arbor know you want to hear both sides.

I appreciated getting both sides of the 9/11 conspiracy-or-not debate. Also enjoyed visiting with the other attendees. JBut sorry I had to leave shortly before the entire presentation was completed in order to make it to our subdivision picnic on time.

I am disappointed I could not make it, a family situation came up out of town, and I could not make it to both. I would have loved to have joined this discussion, and I hope there will be some postings regarding the various points of view.

Unfortunately, I had to run right after the videos finished so I could not participate in the discussion. I am definitely planning revisiting the topic soon.

Conspiracy theorists now have better technological tools than they did at the time of JFK's assassination. They are 'enhancing' video footage to fit their own reality and the sad part is that in the process, they are actually altering history. Good job with the two sets of videos Adam! I watched most of those on YouTube/History channel before but it was great to watch them with a room full of skeptics.

Has the topic of the discussion been stated? I hope it is something more important then the tip of my winny? Was not able to attend the last one as I was getting a new cable installed, and after the installation was complete it was too late to drive across town. What's the next topic?

From what you wrote, I take it you did not attend last night. You missed a great presentation.

Looks like the description didn't save. I updated it.
