CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition is a competition about green technology. The competition is held as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The competition has been running since 2007 and is run by “CleanTech Open", a Silicon Valley based non-profit organization which operates the world's largest accelerator for clean-tech start-ups.
Registration will be open from now until July 23, 2014 at 12:00 PM.
The purpose of the competition is to identify and promote breakthrough solutions in the following areas: Energy Generation, Energy Efficiency, Water and Waste, Smart Grid, Energy Distribution and Storage, Green Buildings, and Smart Transportation.
Who Can Apply?
1) Individuals or groups of entrepreneurs, innovators and early-stage businesses
2) Only Companies that raised up to, but not exceeding, $1,000,000 US from external funding
3) The candidates must be residents of the country they are representing
4) The company must be active in one of the areas mentioned above
The 2014 CleanTech Open finals will be held at Tel Aviv University on September 10, 2014 in front of a large audience of entrepreneurs, managers, investors, researchers and government representatives.
Participants must first present their ideas at the national competition. The winner will then go on to represent Israel at the international competition in San Jose, California in November.
