Dragon boat festival and a cheeky beverage

Hello hello! Willen Lake in MK is hosting a dragon race boat festival on Sunday 22nd June in aid of MK age uk. I thought it would be great to show our support whilst WATCHING (don't worry!) the dragon boat racing festival. I have never been to one and would love to cross this off my 'to do list'. Fingers crossed that the weather will be shining down on us, but I'll update the page nearer the time and cancel if need be, as I'm sure nobody will want to stand outside in the horrible rain/wind. There will be and I quote "bankside entertainment, music, food and fun activities for all the family." The event costs nothing to watch, so there's nothing to lose. Please note that this festival is on the same day as Kings of Leon gig.

There isn't a great deal of information on the website, but I called and spoke to an organiser who said the event will run from approximately 10 -5pm with races every 10 minutes depending on the number of race team entries. Let's meet in the Fayre & Square pub at 1pm. If anyone wants to order food/ a cool drink/tea or coffee/ or cheeky wine then they can. I am planning for it to be a nice relaxed informal day.

Hope to see you there!
Best wishes Esha http://www.fayre-square.com/

I think we are in luck as the BBC have predicted that the weather is about 21 degrees on Sunday. I will try and wait in an obvious place in the entrance way at 1pm in the Fayre & Square pub. If for any reason you cannot make it please keep me updated so we aren't waiting about unnecessarily. Really looking forward to a fun day and to meeting you all :) x
